A Nightmare on Elm Street

A Nightmare on Elm Street was directed in 1984. Robert Englund played the starring part as Freddy Krueger. Wes Craven, the director of the original The Hills have Eyes movie, directed and wrote A Nightmare on Elm Street. It also stars Heather Langenkamp and Johnny Depp.

A Nightmare on Elm Street focuses on a figure who kills people in their sleep by getting into their dreams and turning them into nightmares. The figure is a burnt man who wears a hat, a red and green stripped sweater, and has a glove with sharp knives attached to the tip of every finger. They call this figure, Freddy Krueger. Freddy goes about killing people in their dreams because he is trying to get back at the mob who killed him. The angry mob killed Freddy because he killed children throughout the town. When you are sleeping there is no one there to save you, so Freddy picks off his victims one by one. Be careful when you sleep because Freddy might just come to you!

I like this movie, but I am one who likes scary movies. If you like scary movies you should check this film out and then check out the re-make and decide if you like the original or re-make better. Personally, I like the original because Robert Englund made the part of Feddy Krueger.

Friday the 13th

Friday the 13th stars Betsy Palmer, Adrienne King, and Jeannie Taylor. This movie was shot in 1980.

Friday the 13th is about a boy who drowns at Camp Crystal Lake. He then comes back from the dead as a grown man, and starts mass murdering the camp counselors. The name of the killer is Jason Vorhees, but his mother starts the killing first. Jason ends up getting a hockey mask, a jump suit, and boot as his attire for the murders. He uses a machete as the prime weapon. No matter how hard someone tries to kill Jason, it is like he is indestructible and returns to finish his business.

I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes a scary movie once in awhile.

The Outsiders

The Outsiders initially started out as a book written by S.E. Hinton at the age of 16. She started the book at the age of 15. The movie stars Emilio Estevez, Ralph Macchio, Patrick Swayze, Matt Dillion, Rob Lowe, C. Thomas Howell, Tom Cruise, Diane Lane, and Leif Garrett. It was directed by Francis Coppola.

The Outsiders is about the difference between the "Greasers" and the "Socs." the group of greasers are a bunch of wild, bad boy teens. They have rumbles constantly. The Socs are the goody goods of the town. Johnny Cade (Macchio), a greaser, is walking home one night and he gets jumped by Sheldon (Garrett), a Soc. Johnny's best friend, Ponyboy Curtis (Howell), doesn't leave Johnny's side. Ponyboy's older brothers, Darry (Swayze) and Sodapop (Lowe), are raising Ponyboy because their parents died. When they work, the family friends, Two-Bit Matthews (Estevez) and Steve (Cruise), hangout with Ponyboy, so he doesn't get into any trouble. One night while Johnny and Sodapop are walking through the park, Sheldon and some of his buddies pull up. They start beating up Ponyboy and shoving his face in the fountain. Soon the water turns red with blood and Pony realizes that Johnny has killed Sheldon. The boys run to their friend, Darry (Dillion), for advice. He tells them to go stay at the church in the country because no one will find them there. The boys do so and when they get there they go to the store to get food and bleach to change their appearance. They end up coming back with the book, Gone With the Wind. They bleach Pony's hair and cut Johnny's. As they are coming back to the church with Darry, they see that there is a building on fire and kids are trapped. Johnny and Pony jump out to save the kids but Johnny gets severely burnt. He is in the hospital and he dies. Darry goes crazy and the unthinkable happens. To see what happens to Darry, you better check out this movie!!

This movie contains my favorite poem, 'Stay Gold.' I love this movie and it is a MUST SEE!!

Gremlins

Hello fellow bloggers!! Yesterday, I watched a favorite movie from my past. The movie is Gremlins. Joe Dante directed, while Chris Columbus wrote the story. Gremlins stars Zach Galligan, Phoebe Cates, and Hoyt Axton. This movie came out in 1984.

The movie follows a boy who gets a present from his father. It is a mogwai that has three specific rules that should never be broken. 1. NO WATER 2. NO FOOD AFTER MIDNIGHT 3. NO SUNLIGHT Soon minature green monsters tear through the town of Kingston Falls. These monsters have came from the new pet, Gizmo, the boy has just received. Gizmo has been fed after midnight and has had water spilt on him. As soon as this occurs, he curls up and balls of hair start shooting out of him. These balls of hair soon turn into gremlins that terrorize the town. So, when your washing machine goes KABOOM, or your TV starts freaking out, before you call the repair man, turn on all the lights and look under your all your beds. You can never tell, there just might be a gremlin in your house.
I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys comedic, horror film. I loved this movie as a kid and still love it to this day.
This is after the cute little guy gets water, food after midnight, or sunlight!

What a change this week!! I didn't watch my movie on Sunday but Monday this week... I loved just kickin back on a Monday and watchin a great 80's flick. The movie I watched this week was Fast Times at Ridgemont High. This movie was directed by Amy Heckerling, go women!! It starts Sean Penn, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Judge Reinhold.

The storyline follows a group of California teenagers who live the real-life adventures of Cameron Crowe. Stacy Hamilton (Leigh) and Mark Ratner are looking into one another for a love interest. They are helped by their older classmates, Linda Barrett and Mike Damone. The center of the whole film is held by Jeff Spicoli (Penn). He is a stoned super dude who faces off with his teacher, Mr. Hand. Mr. Hand is convinced that everyone is on dope. What happens when Spicoli and Hand face off?? Watch this movie and find out!!

I recommend this movie to any teenager that likes an old time comedy. If anyone enjoyed Dazed and Confused, you would definitely enjoy Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
