Sixteen Candles

Sixteen Candles stars Molly Ringwald and Anthony Michael Hall. Once again, we see the director John Hughes.

It is Sam's 16th birthday. The thing everyone has a fear of happening on their birthday happens, her parents forget. They forget it's her 16th birthday because Sam's older sister, Ginny, is getitng married the next day. Sam's day starts out terrible. She took a "sex quiz" and slipped it to her best friend. She comes to realize that the qiuz never got to her friend. She is terrified someone is going to find it and reveal the information it contains, that she is a virgin and she is saving herself for her crush, senior, Jake Ryan. Sam's grandparents are also staying with her during the wedding duration and they bring their foreign exchange student, Long Duk Dong. Their grandparents force Sam to take Long Duk Dong to school, and it doesn't take him very long to find a girlfriend. They are found dancing alone in the gym. During the dance that night, Ted and Sam are in the auto shop and Sam confesses her estrange love for Jake. Ted tells her that he was asking for her and tells Sam to go to him. He then reveals the bet he had with his nerdy friends and she gives him her panties so he can win 12 floppy discs. Jake then has a party at his house and his girlfriend Caroline is there. After the party had ended, Jake finds Ted under a table and they begin to talk about Sam. He makes a deakl with Ted, if Ted will let him keep Sam's panties, he will let Ted drive his drunk girlfriend home. Jake uses the excuse of finding those two together and breaks up with her. She doesn't mind the break up because she has fallen for Ted.
